That might the chicken you're seeing that's on top. I mixed it with the pork. It's from Williamson Bros and it didn't taste very smoky.

c'mon kev, people don't actually talk to their neighbors anymore, that would actually require communication and stuff ;)

(actually, with the asswad neighbor KK keeps posting pics of, i'd report the motherfucker too. there is no way that fuckhole doesn't know there's a watering restriction at this point)

I thought about talking to them first, but they have this attitude and I know they'd tell me to mind my own business. Don't have friendly neighbors, well except for the ones I've known since my childhood.

there is still a drought? is it bad or better or worse than it was last year?
shifty

well, the water table isn't replenished. we were in a severe drought, and then we only rec'd 80% of the normal spring rain we would get, and we're headed into the dead of summer, so the water table is still suffering. most of the lakes are within 3ft of "normal", but this is still leaving several feet of clay on the banks of the lakes.
water restrictions are still in place. we still theroetically need to conserve. you're allowed to water with containers in most counties, just not with a hose or sprinkler. most people just don't care and assume someone is going to tell them if they're doing wrong. a lot of my yard is edible, and you're allowed to water your 'personal gardens', so i water anything in my yard that is edible (with a hose) and exploit that loophole. other people want to water their grass, grass is a fucking weed, so i don't find that fair. i got your back, KK!

I have nothing to water other than a couple of basil plants and cilantro, we have ivy and some kind of vinca also growing/attempting to grow. I don't understand the need to have such green grass or clean cars when we're in this drought. It's just selfish.
I check out the watershed's site for current water restrictions.

If anybody needs to call in a violation, here's the city number: 404-982-1414.

Those times seem odd... I thought that I've heard before it's better to water late in the day as/after the sun goes down so the water doesn't evaporate before the plants can make use of it. If there's any validity to that, I would think they would want you to stop by 7am or 8am at the latest... and maybe give a little extra time at night.

well im pretty sure there is something about icecaps melting so we should be getting more water soon.
shifty

jesse, i'm 90% positive you are right about the watering. the reason being, watering that occurs in the morning is quick to evaporate in the sun of the day, so the best time to water is at dusk to prevent excessive evaporation.
i water all of my stuff around 8pm at night. i have timers that will trigger a sprinkler automatically, but we rarely use them. oh, and KK, be careful with that vinca. it's great groundcover, but it is incredibly invasive if you let it go. then again, so is ivy, but ... :)
